We just got these super adorable wool pants into the shop today. I love that they are hand knit by sweet women in Equador who are paid a fair wage and are able to stay at home with their children.
Anyway they are so cute to me. Not quite as cute as the little guy modeling them though.

"Where Love Is" and a new dress.

I finally finished it! It only took me two months,but I finished Aislyn's "flower pink dress." I LOVE to sew. Since opening the store and having the baby, time always seems to elude me. I guess I just need to hone my organizational skills and make time for all the things I want to do. Right now I have two other projects in the making. Marley wanted a sailor dress. And since she probably won't think sailor dresses are cool for much longer I thought I'd get right on that. I'm also making Jairus a little button-on short suit out of the same fabric as Marley's dress. I love all things old fashioned. I can't wait to see his cute little knees sticking out below those little shorts, it'll be so cute.

Marley and Townsend have been learning to play a duet. It is a beautiful primary song entitled "Where Love Is." It has been so cool having the kids learning to play the piano. It's something I secretly wish I could do. I know it's never too late, but......finding the time. Anyway I love this song and am so excited for them to perfect this piece.

UW Tacoma Sustainable Living Fair

As many of you may know I have opened a natural baby boutique "Best Loved Baby" with one of my best friends, Sarah Simmons. We sell cloth diapers and accessories, organic children's clothing, natural and organic toys and the like. Business is going really well. This past Saturday we had a booth at the UW Tacoma Sustainable Living Fair. It was so fun and we met so many great people! I love talking with other moms who share my love of all things natural. This picture is of Sarah, Ephraim and I and my wonderful friend Jessica who came along to help out.

Little Lefty

The other day I looked over at Jairus and admired him as he intently scribbled on a scrap of paper. As every parent does from time to time, I thought to myself,"What a genius he is, he holds his pencil so well!" Then it hit me....he was using his left hand! I watched him all that day and realized he uses his left hand for everything else too. My little guy is left handed. Crazy. How do you teach a lefty to write anyway?

Thomas' thoughts of course immediately went to the wide world of sports. He thinks Jairus' calling in life is now to be a left handed pitcher. I guess they make a bit of money. Here's hoping the kid loves baseball!

Orcas Island in the COLD

Thomas and I(and the baby) got to get away this last weekend. Our wonderful friends, the Simmons have a time share and we all decided it was a nice time to have a little break. We ended up going to Orcas Island in the San Jauns. It was so very beautiful albeit so very cold. We saw deer, bald eagles, beautiful views, and the stars at night. But best of all I got to spend time with my sweet, wonderful husband. I am so blessed to have so many beautiful people in my life. My mom came down to Tacoma and stayed with Marley, Townsend, Aislyn, and Jairus. They love her so much, she is such a fun grandma.

A TRIP TO THE WATERFRONT

The other day I was feeling extra adventurous and decided to take the kids for a walk/bikeride/heely time at the waterfront. I always forget that it is WAY colder there than just outside my front door. So I ended up ditching the walk part and let the kids play while I snuggled on a log with the baby.

It's funny whenever I take all the kids out at one time I get the most awe struck stares. And then of course "Boy, you have your hands full, don't you?" I forget that five children is a lot.

I do have my hands full. But most of the time it's pretty fun. Entertaining at the very least.
